What massage do I need?
Both sports massage and deep tissue massage use slower, deeper techniques to work into the muscles, helping release tension, improve circulation and support your body’s natural recovery.
The difference is in the focus of the treatment. One is more targeted and results-driven, while the other takes a broader approach to easing everyday tension.
If you're not sure which is right for you, we can always discuss this during your consultation.
Strains and injury — Sports massage
Sports massage is a targeted treatment designed to support recovery, reduce muscle tightness and help prevent injury.
It focuses on specific problem areas — whether that’s a pulled muscle, post-exercise soreness or persistent tightness that’s affecting how you move.
By working directly into the affected muscles, sports massage helps improve mobility, speed up recovery and restore proper movement patterns.
Despite the name, you don’t need to be an athlete. It’s just as effective for anyone dealing with physical strain from work, training or everyday life.
Aches and tension — Deep tissue massage
Deep tissue massage takes a more holistic approach, working across larger muscle groups to ease built-up tension throughout the body.
It’s ideal if you’re experiencing general stiffness from long days at a desk, stress-related tightness, or the physical demands of being on your feet all day. The slower, deeper techniques help release tension, improve circulation and leave the body feeling looser and more balanced.
The result is a treatment that’s both therapeutic and deeply restorative.
My principles
1
Relax
Modern life puts constant pressure on the body, whether that comes from intense training, long hours at a desk, or simply being on your feet all day.
Massage therapy helps calm the nervous system, ease muscular tension and create space for your body to reset. Taking time to relax isn’t a luxury — it’s an essential part of maintaining physical and mental wellbeing.
2
Repair
Muscles work hard and over time they develop tightness, imbalance and strain. Targeted massage techniques help support the body’s natural recovery process by improving circulation, reducing tension and encouraging damaged or overworked tissue to recover.
Whether you’re managing an injury or addressing persistent aches, massage can help your body repair more effectively.
3
Recover
Recovery is where progress happens — whether that’s after sport, physical work or long days spent sitting at a desk. Regular massage can help reduce soreness, improve mobility and keep your body functioning at its best.
By supporting recovery, massage helps you stay active, move freely and return to the activities you enjoy feeling stronger and more comfortable.
About
Hi, I'm Daniel
I’m a Level 3 sports massage therapist based between Canterbury and Ashford, offering mobile treatments in the comfort of your home.
After years spent working at a desk, I understand the aches that come with modern working life — tight shoulders, stiff necks and the familiar strain of too much time in front of a screen.
At the same time, as a keen swimmer and yoga enthusiast, I also know the demands that sport and exercise place on the body — the tightness, fatigue and small niggles that can build up over time.
That combination shapes how I work. My goal is simple: to help you ease tension, recover properly and give your body the time it needs to reset.
When I’m not working with clients, you’ll usually find me in the pool or on a yoga mat.
